Activity 2

I decided to design the song Heaven by Brian Adams. This song has been one of my favorite songs for a long time. There is so much meaning to it. It is a song about two people who love each other very much.

There are many ways to express this song in font texts. The only way I could have designed this song was if I was listening to the song as I was typing. I think I listened to this song about fifty times until I finished this activity. There was just so many different ways I could have decorated the words.

I downloaded many fonts for this activity. I tried to find fonts that would fit in the categories of love and passion. I tried to find some flowers and hearts. The font that I used for the title “Heaven” was a flower type font that really shows peacefulness. Also, I increased the font size because I wanted the main focus to be on the title. The words “Oh” and “Only” are bolded and bigger than the words around them because these words needed be emphasized.

This song talks mostly about love between two people. I found a font that had a heart for each letter. I used the “All Heart” font for the words “you” and “me” because there was a lot of love in that sentence. Also, I made those words big because they are the main subjects in this song. In addition, these two words were followed by three important words that describe “lovebirds.” I underlined the words “young,” “wild” and “free” because these words explain the meaning of love.

I found a font that was really interesting and it fit right in with one part of this song. “But that’s over now” was the part that opened my eye. I decided to use the “caveman” font because it really sticks out and I liked it. I made this font the biggest size because I think that this sentence is the climax of the song. It was the turning point of the song because it just gets better after that point.

An interesting and fun font that I decided to use for the last part was the “chiller” font. I thought that this font was fun and it makes you look at the words. The sentence “It isn’t too hard to see,” was an eye opener because it was so obvious that the love between two people was beautiful. Brian Adams ends his song by taking us to the world of love and happiness, which is known as Heaven.
